She promised to reduce the price …as it turned out, by a whole dollar. The sashimi was mediocre, no better than that. The nadir of the experience was my first bite into the spicy tuna hand roll.
It was just old fish, on the edge of spoiling. I had to spit the vile mix into my napkin and flee after paying the check of course. Megan C. A strange comedy of errors that started off amazing and ended with some confusion.
The evening started with a friendly hostess and warm towels to relax and feel very first class with. The waiter was prompt and friendly, took our drink orders and returned quickly with the drinks for our food order. The atmosphere was laid back, comfortable and yet very tailored looking. When our plate of fresh fish goodness arrived, it only had three of the four rolls we had ordered on it. We assumed the fourth was coming any minute, as most sushi places seem to deliver the rolls as they are made— so we thought nothing of it.
As we finished the last of our amazingly tasty rolls, however, we realized the other roll was not coming… and neither was our waiter. He finally arrived at our table a bit later to start taking the dishes we had so meticulously ravaged and proceeded to try and take our half full bowl of edamame with him we politely encouraged him to leave it after some persuading. But, moments later, a bus boy came by and instead of dumping the empty edamame, he dumped the full.
The waiter returned to tell us he had forgotten to submit the fourth roll order, which we were fine with, but getting the check took another struggle with mints falling on the floor and waiting… Overall, I enjoyed the food, but was wholly confused by the gradual yet steady decline in service as the evening went on.
I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt, however, and assume it was just a busy Sunday evening.
