I grew up near Dallas and ate at the Cantina Laredo there the last couple of times that I was home and the local one is just as good.
They have the best guacamole that I have ever had and I am now trying to copy their recipe. The fajitas are also among the best. The other mexican restaraunts in town just don't measure up. I've been wanting to try out this ""gourmet"" mexican resturant for a few months now, so a few of my girlfriends and I went down for the Thursday Ladies Night.
The resturant was packed, the queso with the taco meat was phenomenal, and we had a blast with our server Jeremy. The manager Rachel even stopped by to thank us for coming back. I think it is wonderful that the staff takes the time to make you feel welcome if you're a repeat customer.
I highly recommend this resturant and I will be dining there again soon!! I had heard great things about Cantina Laredo, that it was one of the best new restaurants in Nashville, so, of course, I had high expections. But they were soon dashed by reality: - They had great margaritas and a happy hour scene - I had the Enchiladas de Mole - which was one of their specialities - however the Mole sauce was bland and the chicken totally tasteless and dry.
Perhaps mix in some cheese or something to make the chicken less dry and tasteless. Advertise with Us. Saved to Favorites. Add a Photo. Hi there! Rate this business! Like this review? However, besides them overcharging for everything, their tequila options were pretty good.
Our waitress was really nice and attentive. If it wasn't for their staff, I would rate this place as low as possible.
For now, I'll just rate it as the kids menu of Mexican restaurants. I feel like this place is overpriced for the food you're getting. It really isn't worth it, I would rather just go to Cinco in Cummings Station where I'll have a good time and get authentic Mexican food. Cantina Laredo is a nice, classy Mexican restaurant located in the Gulch area, about 0. Service was excellent and the food was very good. You have to try their Queso with Taco Meat appetizer as it was one of the highlights of our meal.
For dessert, we had the Mango Tres Leches and it was very delicious. For my entree, I had the Taco Barbacoa and I enjoyed it. The meat was tender and flavorful.
The only thing I did not care for was their tortilla. It was somewhat doughy and hard for a tortilla, almost like a wet cardboard. The texture was like a chewy taco. I still finished my meal but I will probably not try their tacos again unless they change their tortillas. Nevertheless, I still recommend others to try this restaurant.
There were many other entrees that I want to try next time, and the service by Samantha was excellent. Parking is not ideal. Food and drinks are great.
Their table side guacamole is the best. Perfect for our monthly sorority alumnae brunch, service was phenomenal as was the food. Have been to Cantina Laredo numerous times. Cantina Laredo is always good and always reliable.
Needless to say, the three course meal and special drinks was not available. I was told the meal deal should have been removed The only positive thing was that our server was wonderful! That's all. Food was absolutely disappointing and gross, which when I had visited there 3 or 4 years ago it was amazing maybe I was too hungover to really care I don't know but we won't be back or will we visit any of the other ones.
We were so excited to find this place. We had eaten at CL in Austin and had not forgotten that meal. So, as it goes, the memory was better than the actual experience in Nashville. The homemade quacamole was great and we split the Camaron Poblano Asada Tasted great though.
We haven't been to Cantina Laredo in several months. It has always been one of our favorites. I have to say that sadly I was not impressed. The food was not very good.
We ordered the guacamole that was made table side. I wish the server would have worn gloves instead of using a wet wipe to clean his hands in front of us. I just found it unappetizing The atmosphere was very subdued and most of the servers congregating as a group in the back like teenagers was disappointing.
The hostess is the worst ever. You will be lucky to get a table and then she will not let a waitress know you are there. Watched her do this several times and saw two groups leave without ever getting served. Been here several times and always great. It's worth the trip just for the apple pie! We had our family dinner there after Christmas before everyone went back to their home states.
It was a wonderful night out. The place is very bright and cheery looking. The food was more "New" Mexican but it was very, very good. Everyone enjoyed it very much The service was incredibly poor from walking in and the hostess and manager not knowing that we had a reservation to the server just disappearing for 20 minutes at a time.
I haven't been here in about 2 years and I was shocked. The food used to be better, but the service used to be a times better. We had our office party there and it was fantastic!!
The service was great and the happy hour options spectacular! I definitely recommend Cantina Laredo to everyone looking for a great experience at a reasonable price! Thanks Cantina Laredo for a wonderful time! Salsa was very good, but nothing else was. Fresh and delicious food. Good service. Looking forward to returning. Fajitas-where awful. Dry no flavor. Cantina Laredo is a go-to for us when we are looking for something casual The food and service are always top notch!
Office lunch party of 7 - great service and food! Food was exceptional. Traffic and parking was terrible. Use the valet across the street in front of Sambuca's. Service was good as usual. The food was sub par and has been bad now for two visits. We won't be back unless they improve the food. Brisket tacos were rubbery and shells were stale.
Queso was very runny and cold. Wonderful experience. Food was excellent and the waitress was more than accommodating on our food choices. I would def recommend this restaurant. We will visit again next time we are in Nashville!!! First, let me start with the service… Kyle, our server, was great, so this review does not reflect on him. In the five years that I've been going to Cantina Laredo, this by far was the worst meal that I've ever had there, and it was the exact same thing I've ordered at least twice before.
My date's meal was also terrible. Like my entre, it had no flavor, limited ingredients, and was just poorly made. The top shelf margaritas that we ordered were also terrible. They were too sweet, and there was no hint of tequila in them. This location has really gone downhill in the last year, and I won't be returning anytime soon. Salsa was great, just like one finds in Texas. Carnitas excellent. Enchilada mole was not very flavorful.
The carne asada enchilada was excellent along with the margaritas. Great service as well! We have dined at Cantina Laredo many times and had incredible service and food. However, last evening was the exception our waitress Maria was not attentive and in a hurry the entire evening.
Our order was incorrect and she blamed us when she got it wrong. I think she may need additional training and thee food was not good. First time dining at this restaurant in the Gulch. Good food and good value!
It wasn't worth the time or money. Overpriced for the quality and the taste you are getting. Love cantina Laredo - but service has fell off the cliff. I had read pretty good reviews about this place but honestly I was unimpressed. For was mediocre at best and the service not great either. Permanently Closed - Cantina Laredo - Nashville offers takeout which you can order by calling the restaurant at
